Was very nice place and well protected. We were there on weekday and did not get many wakes. It is right off the channel and would be susceptible to wakes if lots of traffic. There were 4 boats here and room for few more. Nice park short dinghy ride away. Chain came up clean anchor came up muddy. Would definitely go here again.

Police boat visited us but actually enjoyed their company. Nice guys. We came back here to do some boat projects before going south. Wind blew hard out of NW for a couple days. Still reasonably comfortable. Shopping is difficult except for Publix Super market which is just under a mile up 31st street. Uber is available. Maximo Park is very nice and convenient. Left the dinghy at the wooden dock next to the launch ramp. Perfect location to cross Tampa Bay.

Anchorage was excellent in 8 to 10' nearer to Frenchman's Creek East of R8 buoy. Small commercial fishing boats and locals use Frenchman Creek but was minimal wake and calm after locals returned from sunset cruises. Excellent sunset views from here, but would be obscured by island where Anchorage us shown in WWG. Great Verizon service. Road noise from approach bridge to Tampa bay Sunshine Skyway bridge is noticeably quieter after sundown commuter traffic lessens. Great staging anchorage to cross Tampa Bay and return to Intracoastal Waterway.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
