    Use caution chart depths seem to be inaccurate. We made it between channel markers 5 & 6 before our 5.3 draft started touching bottom. We were close to low tide but still...? Aqua Map and and Navionics show MLLW at 6.8. Abandon the plan for Niles Channel and continued on to Boot Key dodging crab traps in the dark.

    Picked spot because half way between Marathon and Key West. Wind direction and speed chachanged overnight. Anchored in sand with mild SW wind. Wind picked up, shifted to N, then E at 12-15kts. Anchor held and reset with wind shift. Shore is far away and Access is unknown, but there is some wind protection. Convenient stop with good holding.
