It was not a good decision. The lake is large and surrounded by homes and businesses. The only shore access is at the Yacht Club and they made it very clear that they were making an exception for us to land there to take my pups for a walk and do some shopping. My opinion is that you cannot rely on this facility for shore access (and I really do appreciate them allowing us to dinghy in). If West Marine has a dock, I could not find it. Instead, that corner of the lake is littered with sunken and obviously abandoned boats. If you do get to shore, there are a number of restaurants, a Plum Market (think Whole Foods but smaller and more expensive) and West Marine within 1/2 mile. Wind was coming from the east and we were anchored on the west side of the lake so we had a good 2-foot chop pounding on us, with the wind swinging my shallow draft boat, the entire time I was there. It might seem dumb of us to park on the west side, but the east side of the lake is shallower and has rocks so it isn't suitable for anchoring. In addition, the only shore access was on the east side and I didn't want three long round-trip dinghy rides in that chop. There was no current. As for holding, my anchor held fine, but my friend's boat dragged at least 50 feet overnight. Because the wind shifted to be from the southeast, it put them surprisingly close to me in the morning. As for wake, hardly anyone uses the lake but the ones who do make a point of driving as fast as they can past anchored boats. I cannot recommend this anchorage and would not stay there again.
