Busy anchorage with a lot of boats. I found one spot in between a number of boats, but with plenty of swing room. It appeared someone was here and left. As we were setting the anchor another boater told us of one boat that has too much scope out and that is why no one is in this spot. We pulled anchored and move over and found a spot. Setting anchor was pretty easy, but we did drag 10-15 feet at night. There are a lot of wakes and some protection from west wind. There is a park with a dock nearby. Most of the boats seemed to have been there for a long time. We were at 27°11'27.6"N 80°16'07.3"W.

This was a great place to anchor with a dog. There was a park right near the anchorage and one across the channel. The anchor held great but came up with mud that needed to be cleaned off.

Anchored in between many permanent boats. Ended up with anchor under a tripled up raft of powerboats on 100 ft of chain. But, able to get out.

This is a great anchorage that is close to just about everything Stuart has to offer. Being a great anchorage also means there will be lots of boats anchored. There is a free dinghy dock/wharf at Shepard's Park just across the way to the right of Sunset Bay Marina. Sailor's Return is a great restaurant nearby that has room to tie up dinghies. The bottom is mud. This is a great stop before or after exiting the St Lucy lock(hopefully open soon).

The popular Pendarvis Cove anchorage was crowded when we arrived (and the nearby Marina moorings sold out for weeks) so we anchored opposite, on the Stuart side (be careful… shoal). It turned out not the best option…. the black mud was like soft slip and with 20+ kt winds, our CQR was not able to grab and keep a secure hold. We had to re-anchor twice so the next day when space cleared back on the Cove side of the channel, we relocated there, switched to a Fortress anchor, and got a lock solid holding.

Crowded anchorage by boats displaced at new mooring field in Sunset Bay. If anchor here use Frazier Creek park. Tie dinghy to wall and walk dogs. Long walk to shopping.
