Anchor held tight in 8.1 feet of water for two nights. While we were here tide range was less than a foot. There are few fishing boats throughout the day and total silence after sunset.

It was down to about 5 feet right outside the channel, then deepened to about 8 feet where I anchored a bit north of the anchor icon. I would have gone farther south, but there were two small fishing boats in that area that left not long after I dropped anchor. The uncharted island offered some shelter from the southeast wind and also broke a lot of the wake from traffic on the ICW. That island was a great place to take my pups for potty breaks and a run on the beach. The boat hardly moved at all and holding was good with just 40 feet of chain out. It was quiet at night, although I could hear occasional train whistles and traffic in the distance until I turned in. No traffic or wake after dark. I was alone in the anchorage. No-see-ums were a bit of a nuisance, especially in the morning when there was no wind. Cell service on Verizon and Google Fi were both excellent with fast service. I liked this anchorage and would definitely stop there again, but with my anchor dropped closer to the icon to avoid more of the ICW wake.

We saw no less than 5 feet. Anchored in 5 feet behind the island. Good holding. Mostly protected from wakes although some do make it in from the ICW but calm after dark. Nice homes to look at and you can go ashore at the small island.

Draft: 5.0'Overall Rating:4Holding:5Wind Protection:4Current Flow:4Wake Protection:5Scenic Beauty:4Ease of Shopping:1Shore Access:4Pet Friendly:4Cell Service:4At Red 112 turn off the AICW heading 340? magnetic for approximately 0.3 miles in 10' mlw to the anchorage icon and anchor in 10' mlw with excellent wind, wake and wave protection from the NW around to the SE with fair to good protection from the south back around to the west. Despite the small tidal range there is sufficient flow through the anchorage to swing your boat. While you can hear the boats going by on the AICW, they are partially blocked by one of the islands. There is minimal boat traffic through the anchorage during the day and it dies off completely in the evening. There are several small beaches on the islands that you can dinghy to with Fido but there is no shore access for supplies or restaurants here. The anchorage is actually a lot larger than it looks as the 10' water extends north up the back side of Pine Island, allowing more than 10 40+' boats to anchor in a line. The anchorage is very scenic and very pleasant. There is very good cell phone service for the big three. A great overnight spot with easy off and easy on as well as a good place to wait out bad weather. We have done both and will be back.

Previously came in from north by Red 110 but that way has a shoaling channel to figure out each time. No need to stick to the anchor symbol as there is plenty of space to move around. Good fishing.

Enter from south to find 8 feet of water. Protected from ICW waves. Yes dinghy ashore but beware of live oysters that may cut your inflatable and dogs feet. We walk our dogs on leash to keep them out of water and oysters. This may be the last secluded anchorage when southbound.
