Melbourne is not tender friendly, but we did find a grassy area just south of the railroad bridge on Crane Creek, just after the Harbor Walk. The marina did not have a dinghy dock. There are many restaurants and an excellent craft brewery. The quaint downtown was worth the effort.

We had no issues with wakes. Plenty of room for many boats - there was only one other when we were here. Got out at the old boat ramp (look for gate) Busy and nice walking path for dogs going either way - View from the bridge was incredible at sunrise! Store with deli food, great meat market and wine a few block walk inland on East side. Dogs not allowed on beach. Watched SpaceX launch from the boat - Amazing! Dolphins were great entertainment this am too.

This is well-protected but the waves wrapped around the corner so we were rolling a bit. You can access shore; look for the old boat ramp with the gate across it. We stepped ashore there but hid the dinghy to the east, in the mangroves. The walk over the bridge is great. You'll get noise all night from the causeway but in a north wind you'll be happy to be here.

The anchorage has good holding but each time a boat went under the Melbourne Brige, the wake was felt even though we were pretty far away from the channel. A short dinghy ride to the Melbourne boat ramp that also has a nice tie up area. Main street is one block up and to the right. Great restaurants and pubs. Small food marts but no grocery stores within walking distance. It was very quiet but there are many traps around the area so we had to maneuver through them. No wifi but cell service was fine for us to use the hotspot.
