With the only navigational issue being the 9 feet MLW passing Red 2 at the mouth of the river, we continued up the river to the Rocky Point anchorage icon where we found 8 feet MLW and good holding. Our anchor set immediately and held through two days of winds to 20 mph from the west, the most exposed direction in the anchorage. When we brought the anchor up it was well covered with a layer of thick mud. Wavelets of no more than 6-8 inches with little breaking tops came by us but did not disturb us at all. There was virtually no current running in either direction so we moved around with the wind with no worries about swing room at all. The anchorage appears to be flat, with a minimum observed depth of 8 feet MLW and there is room for ten or more boats to comfortably anchor. Although we were here at the end of the season, the place is lovely and quiet. Centerville is reachable by dinghy three quarters of a mile further up the river with several restaurants choices available and an Acme supermarket and a pharmacy about a mile and quarter from the dock as well. Cellular reception is very good and, using our T-Mobile Gateway, we had sufficient internet speeds to watch a movie. There are at least two other anchorages in the Corsica River that are good and are closer to the Chester River but, in the future, when we are in the area and in need of a day off, we will definitely come back here.

Not much boat traffic on a Sunday in May except for some small fishing boats and skiffs. A few bars of ATT and Verizon cell service, enough to be decent but not outstanding. We didn't have a need to access shore, but could have gone upriver a bit to the Centreville wharf if needed.

Anchored just out side cut entrance to Corsica River Yacht Club before RED #4. Went swimming and cleaned water line. Enjoyed watching young sail camp sailors in OPTI’S circling our boat to get their pictures taken. Fun anchorage. Plenty of creek past Red #4 (take White PVC pipe marking shoal on your Port side) to anchor well protected big homes and docks on shores.
