Review for Sandy Island Mooring Field and Anchorage

You will pay the same fee and it is collected by the park attendant. It can be a bit crowded at times. There is some protection from swell, but you may find yourself rolling a bit. Wind protections from the east is good. There are no dinghy docks on Sandy Island, or across the bay at Hillsborough so plan accordingly. The nearest fuel and groceries are in Tyrell bay a few miles away. The Paradise Beach Club is a great place to get dinner. Unusually good food and service for the Caribbean, and they will come pick you up at your boat. Sandy Island is full of wildlife. Snorkeling off the north side of the island is good with plenty to see. Waters are usually very clear.
