Fairly strong current, but no problem with our anchor holding.

Good holding in 10 feet water in sand. Low coastal islands provide little wind protection but good calm waters as local boaters seem to respect no wake zone. Dinghy to Morningstar Marina from land access for $20 to walk the dog or rideshare pickup. Little within walking distance, because this is a high-end residential area. Current is swift and 8 foot tides means you need to add another 50 feet to your anchor calculations to allow for high tide. Easy access to St Simon's inlet for ocean access.

The anchorage did not provide a lot of wind protection and the current is incredibly swift here. If the current is against the wind (like it was for us at around midnight) you are in for a bumpy night. The marina charges $20 for dinghy tie up but you do get access to the facilities. Long way into town from the marina (closer at free dock which we didn't use)so Uber is probably best. Great town, lots to do, would have loved another day but not at the anchorage.

Decently OK place to set the hook. Mind the tides and remember that the tides are 7-feet. If you anchor in 10 feet of water at high tide, you could well be resting on the bottom by low tide. As the saying goes, "if your draft exceeds the depth, you are aground." Give yourself enough "room to move" when you select your spot and make sure you will not be swinging into shallow water.

Good holding, no wakes as on edge of a no wake zone. Dinghy ashore at Morningstar Marina, $5 daily rate. Very helpful staff, transient rate avilable for laundry, showers, etc. Shops, banks, restaurants 2 miles away.
