My only complaint about this anchorage was it was soooo buggy! We got eaten alive by no-see-ums when pulling the anchor in the morning.

A must stop if weather supports — fascinating history of the island. Lots of trails, NPS tours available.
Note that there are two ferry docks — Dungeness (near this anchorage) and Sea Camp (about 1 mi further north) and the north ends of both of these are public dinghy docks. Dungeness is closer to the ruins, Sea Camp
has more trails in different directions and shorter to the beach. Bathrooms at both open during park hours.

Anchored in 9 feet of water, a strong hold in mud, shared the anchorage with 5 sailboats and 2 motor boats. Very light boat traffic as it was a weekday. Watched the ferry load and unload visitors on the island.
