Description:
Anchor in 15 feet depth below the island, just into the chute. Enter from the downstream end. Current is not strong, so allow room to swing. Quiet spot, well off the sailing line. It is possible to dinghy across to explore Cave in Rock State Park or the town. No T-Mobile signal but strong AT&T signal.

Good midpoint between Green Turtle Bay Lake Barkley and Evansville. Anchored near down river entrance in 15 feet of water November 2024, anchor came up perfectly clean, beautiful sunrise on bow of boat and sunset on stern of boat, watched nearby ferry crossing Ohio River. Great anchorage!

We anchored here in September. Anchor came up clean. Very pretty location and you could dinghy across to explore the town and park. More wind protection if you go farther up the chute. Cell service is AT&T, so we were throttled with our T-Mobile service and it was only usable for email and phone calls, no internet or streaming.
