Winds were 5-8mph out of the southeast, to south, to west by morning and our anchor held very well. The area between the 2 bridges (from Beaufort to Port Royal) was to be no-wake, but some smaller boats did not adhere to that, but it wasn't horrible. Port Royal marina was right here and had a very nice little restaurant that we ate at. Easy access via dinghy. We don't have pets so didn't opine on that, but there really isn't a shore unless you consider the marina "shore access". Definitely recommend it!
