Description:
This anchorage is essentially just a pull-off of the ICW, but it does get you a good distance from the channel. Enter the anchorage across from the boat ramp and move WNW into the pocket of about 10-15 feet of water. There is less water the more you continue deeper into the pocket but also more crab pots. There is a lot of current so you will turn with the tides. The boat ramp provides shore access for a quick dog walk. Holding is good in mud with shells. This anchorage is exposed to wakes from the ICW but we didn't notice any between sunset and sunrise. I would only use this option if Factory Creek is full.

Yes. The boat ramp across the ICW at Pigeon Point allows for shore access or go down river to the free dock on the Beaufort Waterfront.

5-11-24 Easy in and out with 14 feet at low tide. Some local traffic but courteous boaters during our stay. Exposed to all winds but great holding.

November 2 2023 anchored here for the night after long day run. Light winds out of NE. Easy in out and good holding , room for several boats. Two boats anchored here this night. Decent swing room. Short run to visit Beaufort for breakfast in the morning on courtesy dock.
