Excellent anchorage in SE to E winds. It's a very open anchorage so can become quite rocky in other winds. Be careful of the rock bar to the north. The rocks are visible at low tide but not high tide. It is shallow there!
The town had at least 4 grocery stores, two which are significant sized and prices were lower here than many items in the main grocery in Rock Sound. There's a well stocked hardware store (not marine) with excellent tool, electrical and plumbing selection.
Don't miss the beach swing. The beach cemetery to the north is historic.
