Wind was 10-15 from the East so there was a little chop. We anchored near the mouth of the creek a couple hundred feet west of the lone mooring ball. Plenty of swing room. Another vessel was inside further. there is roo for many boats here. Holding was good in mud and it was comfortable during the night. Only 19 NM from Charleston so it allowed us to pick tides for departure.

I noticed when we left in the morning, at high tide, that the MOORING BUOY that everyone passes on their way in to anchor was awash at high tide! Only ripple could be seen… so here are our coordinates as we passed 50 ft west of the mooring's location: 32° 42.558 N 080°11.157 W if you plan to come in at high tide, a waypoint at this spot might be a good idea.

Moderate current and can hold many boats. Go past private mooring ball. Very nice swing room. Easy on and off ICW. Be careful if you come in at high tide as this area of SC has a large tidal difference and the sides drop down accordingly. I anchor in the middle and it leaves plenty of room for other boats to go around either side. Like other linear anchor creeks, feel free to go in past the WG marker. Not real great current and very good holding. Stayed here multiple time. Not really dog friendly. 5G.

Draft: 3.0'Overall Rating:4Holding:4Wind Protection:4Current Flow:4Wake Protection:2Scenic Beauty:4This is a popular anchorage, if you see it, you will know why. A good creek with minor current and easy access to ICW. Someone put in an open mooring ball near the entrance. Plenty of room for several boats without annoying each other. Plenty of depth, further in the creek is better protection from wake. Wind can come from W and shoots down the creek, so watch weather for a smoother ride.

Bright night sky, dolphins, sunsets. Perfect getaway. We were one of 4 boats along the creek and everyone was well spaced. There is lots of room for lots of boats plenty of room to swing and plenty of water. Highly recommend for a stop if you are on your way to/from Charleston. Cell service with Verizon and Google Fi were both very good.
