Good little spot to get out of the wind, held well in calm water, very still compared to the main waterway. However... this area is very cramped and was slightly difficult to maneuver in our small boat. Neighbors on shore did not seem friendly and seemed quiete annoyed we pulled in shortly after sunset. (as evidenced by the bright flashing spot light, despite no seen obstacles at night or in the morning, perhaps they were warning us of somthing but it didnt seem that way after the first 5 to 10 min) other boaters were slightly more friendly and showed us to a good spot to anchor. We did not stick around in the morning or attempt to dinghy to shore so unsure about the area. We did pass a cute little park , but didn't see any stores or restaurants.

Great protection from high winds and chop of ICW. Anchored in 8-9 ft with good hold in mud/sand. We did swing with winds 15-20 mph with greater gusts. Mooring field on south side of basin. We anchored near homes across from marina with about 10-12 long term anchored vessels. Larger boats may be challenged to find a wide enough swing space. Large park along channel entrance provides great shore access. Did not check out shopping options.
