Lots of dead trees in the water. Current from dam holds you in place unless the wind is blowing in the opposite direction.
Not the place to anchor if you want a view of the Smokeys. You can only see a tiny sliver from here.
Good shore access at boat ramp.
Noise from nearby highway, lots of motorcycles.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

We were able to take our dog ashore at the boat launch next to the anchorage. Great spot to Kayak or Paddle Board. We also took our tender up to see the dam, the Harley Davidson store and Thor a glimpse of the Tail of the Dragon. I encourage you to take a very quick dip in the crystal clear ice cold mountain water.
