There are multiple blue holes, mangroves, coral throughout the area near the islands, and turtles, rays, etc.
Unless you draw less than 3 feet, you won't be able to get too close to shore. Pick the best area for expected winds. In winds less than 10 knots it will be pleasant. There can be some swell from the S and E. You likely may be the only boat in the entire bight. It's easy enough to dinghy from here to Pete's Pub/Little Harbour. Depths appeared pretty accurate to Explorer and Navionics. Proceed slowly the deeper into the bight you travel. We anchored between 1.6-1.8 meter marks just southeast of the WG anchor markerView location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Draft: 4.0'Overall Rating:4Holding:5Wind Protection:2Current Flow:4Wake Protection:3Scenic Beauty:5Shore Access:4Cell Service:3One can obtain good protection from winds from Southeast clockwise to Northeast by choosing the appropriate windward shore throughout the Bight. Only easterly winds—and more importantly, the accompanying swells—are likely to be of concern. Holding through the Bight is excellent with it's mostly sandy bottom. Be alert to the stage of the tide when setting anchor: swells blocked by the reefs across Little Harbour Cut at low tide can make for a rolly anchorage as the tide rises. This can be exacerbated by a wind that puts you beam-to persisting swells.
The Bight is a gorgeous place, especially if you take a dinghy ride to get behind the islands that ring it. Sea life abounds, and in mid-February every trip into the flats showed us at least fifty green turtles. Of particular note are several Blue Holes which are stunning, particularly on a rising tide. One very popular one can be found at 26°20.706'N 77°1.796'W. (And on the nearby shore, one can also find a memorial to three divers who died while exploring the cave system in 1994.)
Precise coordinates for seven others can be found online. They can be difficult to locate otherwise. As others have noted, there are some very shallow spots and one could easily wind up trapped (or walking) on a falling tide.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Get as close to shore as your draft permits. Good holding in sand; 5 - 6 feet. There are some sandy patches on the inshore islets to explore to get off the boat, and the channels between the islets are full of marine life and several blue holes. Be careful exploring back there, it gets very shallow.

Extreme tides due to full moon discouraged us from anchoring further west. Some rocking and wind did whip around the west of Bridges Cay. Excellent holding.
