Only one small area is outside the mooring field and inside the Inner Ledges. It's deep (20-30 feet MLW), and you'll often share it with large yachts. You are in the outermost area of the harbor and very exposed. The ledges do not protect from seas or wind at high water.
It's much easier and less stressful to pick up a mooring from Lyman-Morse or the yacht club. All moorings in the outer can expect exposed conditions, and any wave or swell from the east or southeast can really get it rocking and rolling in here.
All that said, Camden is a must-see. Don't miss Blue Barren Distillery and Restaurant at Lyman-Morse--their gins are the best!View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
