Description:
Although the anchorage marked by white buoys just north of flashing red 170A is for big-ship use, recreational craft can find spots on the east side of Houghtaling Island, north of 30-foot, flashing red 180. Stay in the center and proceed 1 to 2 miles upriver. Commuter train tracks on eastern shore. Cell service avilable.

We anchored just past marina on west side in 9ft water anchor set fast and held tight lots of swing room ,trains on east side ,nice anchorage off the Hudson

Beautiful quiet anchorage. There is a reversal of current with tide, but very gentle. Plenty of swing room. Anchored in 15 ft just north of private marina. Good holding in mud. West side of anchorage is lush green with lots of birds. This gets you off the Hudson and away from barge traffic.
