Well protected except from northerly winds. Situated Off main channel so some wake activity received. Short tender ride to restaurants, shopping and maritime museum. Recommend Lemon Chello restaurant for dinner if you are tired of the crab...

Great spot, easy access to dinghy dock and town amenities. Came in when there where three other power boats and a big ketch. First anchored up into bay between the houses. But soon moved when a big boat left and we had a spot closer to the green buoys. Everything was fine for over 24 hours. Then the wind shifted from the NE and we dragged slowly toward the Marina on south side. The sailboat drug as well, even though the winds were moderate (10-15ish). Moved up toward the #3 in 8ft of water low tide and held through a squall.
The ketch ended up grounded Sunday morning.
A note about the anchorage out in the river listed as St Michaels. There were three 50ft plus boats out there on anchor during the wind shift and increase in wind. The middle boat, a 54ft ish Carver dragged anchor south-southeast out of sight. Someone was able to reach the owners on shore and they made it to the boat by dinghy before anything bad happened. Frankly quite amazing the anchor dragged that far, they didn't hit the next to them Flemming, and didn't beach.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is an easy town to walk with many beautiful homes. We needed to do some minor provisioning and the grocery store is about 2+ miles from town. We were there the weekend of the log canoes races. It was great to see these historical vessels up close and in action. Also enjoyed a trip to the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.

Holding wasn't great as we drug anchor in the middle of the night and ended up *really* close to our neighbor by morning. Being at the end of line means you don't have a lot of protection from the wind or waves.
The local water taxi was awesome and provided access to the shore from our boat quickly; the kids loved it.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Museum is worth seeing though the curation is uneven. This anchorage is great from S or W. NE might be problematic. Lots of boat traffic that stops at dusk. We had 2 storms blow through in 2 days -each with 180 deg wind shifts but hook never budged in the mud.

Easy access to shore, the museum is a must see.
