Scouting Report - Shaw Bay is quite large and there is sufficient fetch from the north (3/4 miles) for waves to be kicked up. The bay is deep up to the shore and I can see people "playing' in the bay and there being a problem with wakes during the day. Depth at the anchorage icon was 11 feet mlw and we followed the charted break depth line east from the icon for about a half mile. Plenty or room for any number of boats. .

Great spot to protect from south and southwest wind. Plenty of water. Peaceful. Not great ATT service but works.

Shaw Bay has long been a popular place, but it often has rafts of cruisers, including a big summer on-the-water concert (good performers by the way).
But I have been awakened too many times in the middle of the night to find boats and sometimes entire rafts, drifting down on me. If you raft here, please break up for the night.
I prefer quieter spots farther up one of the Wye branches but if you feel sociable, this is the place.

Well protected and good depth. Plenty of room for at least 10 boats. A good alternative if St Michaels is to crowded.

Very easy anchor. Room for several boats. Shore access is limited but available at the center of the cove. In September, the birds on the shore were very noisy and many fishing boats came into the bay early in the morning.

Great quiet anchorage as previous review. Our AT&T MiFi signal was strong enough to stream TV, but actual telephone calls went in and out.

Nice wide bay with lots of room for many vessels. Deep water (for the Chesapeake), 15-20' with good holding in mud. Open to the North/NE, but you could tuck in closer to the shore in the far corner for more protection.
