Bell Island-West

Description:
There is a strong north south current in this area and the anchorage is in front of a small beach which is protected from the east only and is exposed in all other directions. In most conditions the wind and the current make for a rolly but pretty anchorage. The holding is fair in thin sand over rock. This anchorage is not recommended for overnight anchoring but is fine for a lunch stop.

We anchored in the bay just south of the marked anchorage. Excellent holding in sand with 10' of water. Great shelter from N through SE winds.

A pretty spot. There is a (private I think) marina and boat ramp in the bay.
