Anchored in between bird and whale in a sandy bottom with excellent holding. Decided to move to the southside of Bird key and quickly found that it was mostly rock with poor holding. Moved back and reset the anchor without any problems. Was joined by two other catamarans in the same Anchorage and everybody held well and there was plenty of room for even more boats to anchor. The only downside is there's no where you can go ashore. Little whale, whale and bird are all private. Very pretty over. Great stepping off point for Nassau.

Draft: 6.0'Overall Rating:3Holding:5Wind Protection:3Current Flow:5Wake Protection:3Scenic Beauty:2Cell Service:3Stayed south of Bird Cay (rather than between Bird and Whale Cays) as the wind was shifting to the North. I still caught some significant swells until at least 12 hours after the wind had shift from the West to North. The depth is about 10 feet as close as 100 feet from the shore, but even being so close in, there was still only moderate wind protection. Being in the lee of the clump of trees meant being far enough away from the cut that there was no discernable current at all. Holding was excellent in soft sand. If the wind anywhere but North or maybe Northeast, you don't want to be here.
