Description:
One warning: A large, red, island freighter-type boat delivers fuel by hose to Alder Cay. If you are awakened by loud blasts from a boat's horn, weigh anchor and move quickly. The land "hookup" for the incredibly lengthy hose from the boat is behind some oleander on the northwestern shore of the cay's small harbor. If you are lucky enough to be anchored out of its way, prepare to watch the proceedings, especially the hose handling

Beautiful anchorage in light easterly winds. Strong easterlies produce a surge that makes the anchorage uncomfortably rolly. There is a small stretch of beach at the southern end of Alder Cay where we took the dog. We did not encounter anyone while at the beach. Water is crystal clear and there are many patch reefs that provide snorkeling opportunities.
