AS of January 2023 not only is the marina still closed but landing in the Park is not permitted. However the anchorage is open and it appears the rangers are not objecting to boaters landing on the entrance sand spit or alone the northern beach. Just don't wander into the Park.

Missed a star because of hurricane damage. Dockage outside the lock is very scarce. Pump-out was not working. Squeezed the inflatable into a spot and had a wonderful morning. Good food and a nice walk. Repairs are underway and progressing nicely.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Marina Review for Tarpon Point Marina

As of December 2022 this marina was still basically closed due to hurricane damage. The slips are a big mess but work is progressing. One face dock was functional but docking appears to be limited to city and contractor workers. I was turned away trying to go to the restaurant. The anchorage has been cleared of all the derelicts by the hurricane and Safe Harbor Marina is alive and well but dockage even for a dink outside the lock is worse than ever to find a space. Still a great place to walk and eat.
