Old abandoned wall in front of Ice Building. There is nothing here except wall and pedestal. No one comes to assist with lines. No facilities or security of any sort. Not what I expected. Only communication is by phone, with person who handles everything remotely.

    Business Response:
Joe, just the facts. It is not an old abandoned wall. The 150’ long face dock and 5,500 sq ft deck was built 12 years ago at a cost of $400,000. The dock has four power (50 & 30 amp)/water pedestals. We are a very small marina accommodating up to three vessels. Generally, most of our guests are experienced boaters and do not need assistance in docking (the current is minimal). Sorry, I did not assist you with the lines but I was out of town visiting my children. ALL our guests (including Joe) receive a text confirming their reservation, pictures of a navigation chart depicting the route to the dock and pictures of the dock and surrounding waterways. Included in the text is an explanation that we DO NOT HAVE FACILITIES OF ANY SORT. We cannot be responsible that a guest that chooses not to read. NO docking facilities in Apalachicola have dedicated security. Apalachicola is a extremely safe place to live and visit. If a guest needs security then Apalachicola is not the place to visit…. Yes, our only communication with are guests is by phone or text. Since hurricane Michael (when our main facility was destroyed) we have accommodated over 1,200 vessels and less than a handful of guests requested VHF. The cellular service in Apalachicola is excellent. Joe, thank you for your comments. Sorry we did not live up to “Not what I expected.” George J. Mahr

Enter dock channel from G/R 1 buoy and approach with no less than 9 feet of water mlw. If coming downriver make sure to extend all the way to the green and red preferred channel mark to avoid shallow water. Dock newly constructed dock is a fixed face dock with exposed pylons so plan your fender gear accordingly and account for the tidal variation of about 1.5 feet. There is 8 feet of water at the dock and room for three 40 – 50 foot boats. 30 and 50 amp power is available as is water but there are no other amenities available, not even an office. What you get is a spot in the middle of historic Apalachicola with shops, restaurants, and pubs all within three blocks of your boat. We were here mid-week and the town was quiet but we can imagine that, on good weekends, the area will be crowded and the noise level will be higher. Definitely worth a day off to walk around and definitely worth an extra night to sample some of the food, including the raw bars serving local oysters. We give the marina an extra star for location in a lovely place. Cell phone reception is very good for ATT and Verizon and fair for T-Mobile.

This is not a marina as titled. It is a historic brick building that was the Apalachicola Ice Company. The face dock will accommodate approximately three 40-50' boats. It is new construction and power is reliable. The dock space is awesome and it is right in the center of town. If you don't need bathrooms or laundry, this place is great. Do not use the address to have anything shipped, there is no office here and it will not get delivered.

Nice new solid fixed dock. Great location, right in town, but no amenities other than water and shore power, not much for $2/ft. Apalachicola is an interesting town, with lots of character with its bars, restaurants and shops. Would go back.

150 ft face dock. Only amenities are electric and water. No wifi and no shower rooms. Great location in a nice town. Great seafood stores and restaurants. Lots of good little shops. Small park to walk the dog plus some neighborhoods.

Great Service from George!! Small dock and you only have water and power but the location is awesome! Right by the downtown area where there are some great shops and restaurants! Loved this area and ended up staying an extra night just to enjoy it. Be careful turning into the channel as the marker is small/dirty so tough to see as you come in and it gets very shallow quickly!

Solid lay along dockage. No amenities beyond water and electricity. Located near several eating/drinking spots. Several shops make for nice visit. Great communications. Caution: Next door neighbor does not like any part of a vessel extending beyond the dock.

As reported, further north than indicated position, just past a shrimp processing facility. Look for a brick building with the wall toward the water mostly removed.
Good power, no showers or restrooms. Neighbor informed us to “don’t overhang, ya gotta be 100% on the dock face”. Reminded me of the old guy that hates kids cutting across his yard, lol.
Most restaurants closed on Sunday, surprisingly since the tourists are returning.
Don’t leave any external lights on, the gnats were unbelievable at end of May. Lots of Martins were fun to watch and they had plenty to eat.
George was an excellent communicator and quite accommodating. With no amenities it is a tad expensive at $2/foot but location convenience has a price.

As the previous reviewer mentioned their original facility was destroyed in the hurricane and has not been rebuilt. The new location and I assume temporary is a little bit further north and it’s called the Ice House. It’s about 150 foot side tie with four power poles. Overall good experience with a great location. George the owner super nice guy and happy to support him hopefully he will rebuild and provide additional amenities.

Nice new docks. Marina moved north a few blocks I think at the Old Ice house Building. Owner a very nice guy. Pretty much in the heart of town. Walking to shopping and restaurants. The marina offers a golf cart for use to Piggly Wiggly or CVS.. We stayed 2 days rested and enjoyed Apalachicola..

Above and beyond is the way I'd rate the folks at Apalachicola Marina. We were running way late getting in from a gulf crossing and Jeff made sure they were ready for our arrival after hours. They had the "lights on" and made it easy for our arrival. The next morning Ross was great in helping us get fueled and ready for the next leg of our trip.

Might be a small facility, but service was anything but small. Clean showers, good price on fuel, great service!
