This is a great live-aboard location, in a natural hurricane hole well inland from the Gulf, and often with several feet of fresh top water from river flow that keeps growth to a minimum on boat bottoms.
Others are correct that the amenities are currently thin, and the hotel charges $75/mo for use of the pool, but we don’t want to anyway. This is a great quiet location if you have what you need on your boat, want to socialize with dock neighbors on the dock and not in common areas, and need only a place to securely tie up with high-quality concrete floating docks, water, power and new pump-out boat, a place to park a car, and a location close to Naples, FL by land and the keys by water (Key West is 60 miles due south). We like the fact that we can get to Naples without the traffic of being in the thick of it or on the north side of town. Fort Lauderdale airport is 1:30 across Alligator Alley, because you drop in 1/3 of the way across.
The staff are great, and everyone looks out for each other. This is a hidden gem, and is a fraction of the cost of other marinas.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Perfect for fishing, nature lovers. Dockmaster goes out of his way to help, excellent service. Ship store with bait, wide boat ramp, easy parking. (Dockmaster, ramp, slip arrangement, ship store get FIVE stars)
Terrible for live aboard boaters unless you're retired and don't need the few amenities.
(Here's why two stars). Hotel amenities are NO LONGER FREE (1-1-2018) - no showers, pool, gym, game room, etc. Hotel is unnecessarily antagonistic toward marina residents. (2+ years personal experience) So if you're a live aboard, be prepared to be treated with distain if you dare step into the hotel.
Only 'amenities' for marina live aboards or transients is one tiny over-used shower and one toilet on a communal houseboat. Two coin operated laundry washers & two dryers, so be prepared to wait in line.
Electrical, water, & pump out at slips. Floating docks here a plus. Lengthy over 7-mile channel with shallows to access Gulf. No bridges oceanside.
Overall, great place for trailered vessels and day or camping trips, kayaking, and general nature immersion.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is a great resort for fisherman and live aboards. Not equipped to handle transients. Long seven mile run, basically no wake and idle all the way in several shallow areas. High tide a must. Will need a rental car for extended stay. Some slips privately owned and that is how we ended up here. Very friendly people. Call and talk to Steve the dockmaster if considering.
