The diesel price on 29 July was $4.13/gallon. On arrival I found the safe water (red/white vertical strip) buoy as a critical waypoint and then I followed the range and its markers to avoid the west shoals. Once inside the bay it is a direct heading to the marina located at the west end of the bay. The marina can accommodate boats of various lengths in a slip or on the wall. Facilities at the head of the pier offer marina office, restroom, shower, laundry, ice, and lounge. Cellular service (T-Mobile, Verizon) is practically not available, but the marina has excellent WIFI. On arrival call the marina on Marine Band #9, if there is no marina attendant a Forest Ranger from Fort Wilkins Park will respond. The center of town is about 1-mile walkable distance. I found taking the passenger ferry to Isle Royale from Copper Harbor a convenient day trip.
