We were not headed to Clayton until a severe storm came up over Lake Ontario and chased us off the St. Lawerence River. We stayed at the Clayton Municipal Dock-Mary Street Dock for two days to let the weather pass. The dock is newly renovated with good tie-ups, provides good protection, and lovely benches and flowers to enjoy the view. It is close to downtown Clayton with a lot of pleasant shops and restaurants. The restrooms, shower, and laundry are at the end of the dock and well-maintained. The Wood Boat Brewery is just two blocks up from the dock and has great food. The area around the dock is not very pet friendly. Don't miss the Antique Boat Museum aet the end of the dock. It has an amazing collect of several hundred antique boats and nautical items.

We tied up on the inside. No issues making the turn in there. Some rolling even on the inside, more on outside as reported by others here. The staff will catch your lines; very friendly.
The VILLAGE of Clayton is a different entity than the MUNICIPAL marina around the corner. So there is no coordination between these two spots.
Antique Boat Museum and restaurants are nearby... worth a half or full day for certain.

The marina is very exposed to waves and boat wakes. There is 30A and 50A power. The dock is new and well lighted at night. There is one washer and one drier. They are only accessible during the hours the marina office is open (8 am - 4 pm). It is an easy 0.5 mile walk to the grocery store. There is no fuel or pumpout at this marina (they ate at a nearby fuel dock). The antique boat museum is next to the marina. The marina staff were friendly and helpful.

Easy approach to the outside of the face dock, a bit narrow on the inside. Side ties only, no slips. Newish looking dock and restrooms with showers and laundry. Very exposed to wakes and waves if on outside. Restrooms needed cleaning. Right next to the Antique Boat Museum. The town is small enough that it is easy to walk anywhere. No fuel or pump out, but good power pedestals.
