Free (48 hours) city dock next to a small park with launch ramp. No problem getting through the S Bridge. Called approximately 1 hour out and the bridge tender was on site when we arrived. Very quiet and protected. We pulled up to T head at the fixed dock. Dock was in good condition. 50 amp power and water both in working order. Arrived on a Sunday so not much open but Mars Creamery was a couple blocks away and served excellent ice cream at a very reasonable price. We found this to be a fine stop for a quick overnight and enjoyed the beautiful view of the sunset over the water.

6-5-24 The bridge tender is not onsite and must be called at least 30 minutes before arriving at the bridge. We didn't have any issues and provided our future departure date and time. We called 30 min prior and no issues on departure. Very friendly and accommodating bridge tender.
This is a city dock, not a marina. We called ahead and the associate was very friendly and informative. Friendly historical town with a local taphouse and cafe. The Catfish Hunter Museum is also located here.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Nice docks and free power. Friendly people too. The swing bridge has been replaced but there is no bridge tender. Had to make many calls to get someone to open the bridge. No restaurant in the downtown area open in the evening. Fine dining here is a hot dog at the taproom. The only option available unless you walk a long way to McDonald's.

Fixed docks are in in good condition. Power is available at one pedestal located at the outside of the T dock. 30 or 50 amp is available. The pump out appears to have been out of commission for a while. Potable water also dockside. The swing bridge was replaced and opened in Oct of 2023. Summer bridge hours 8AM to Midnight. Use Ch 13. Winter hours 10A to 10P. Clean safe small town. Lots of fishermen in boats. Provisions and restaurants are a short bike ride away.

We travel around the Albemarle Loop while heading south for the winter. The docks are excellent with power, water, and pump-out (via Dispatch 252-426-5751 for a worker to operate the pump equipment on shore). It's a 1-2 block walk into downtown with an informative Visitor Center, impressive Catfish Jimmy Hunter museum, a corner drug store with double dips of ice cream for 82 cents at the fountain, restaurants, hardware and other shops, a convenience/gas station, and street corner fresh produce trailer. On Oct. 30 the merchants celebrate Halloween by giving out treats to the town's children in costume. The town offers other frequent activities, such as yesterday's Tractor Parade to Missing Mill Park for lunch (2 blocks away). www.VisitPerquimans.com for current activities. This is one of eight Albemarle Loop towns that offer 48 hours of free dockage to attract boaters. The S Bridge is the only one in the US and is to be replaced sometime in the future. However, it has the most courteous tenders, operates without any problems, and quickly opens upon request (Channel 13) in the off season from 10 am to 10 pm daily. It is a delightful place to go, see, and enjoy.
