Abby the Harbormaster and her crew were great. Pumpout was on your own. Shower and bathroom facilities were good. My only issue was security on docks. The town was very walkable to anywhere you wanted to go.

Very nice marina with new docks. Dock hands need some gentle reminders on what to do. Amy was helpful. One shower with a door and 2 toilets. The washer ($3) and dryer(25c for 15 minutes) is in the ladies room. Very close to restaurants, shopping and breweries. Wooden Ship Brewey has great pizza. Wooden Ship museum is walking distance too. The Clayton Tours are great way to see Boldt Castle. There is a transportation van called Chug Wagon, which is great.

We stayed at the Clayton Municipal Marina 9/16-9/18, 2023. The area is drop dead gorgeous. The marina itself is new but basic: floating docks, power, water bathroom/showers/coin-op laundry. Small office building staffed with relatively inexperienced folks. But, this isn't a conventional full service marina with fuel and maintenance services ... it's a hotel for boaters.

What amplifies the stop is the quaint beauty of Clayton itself. Between Alexandria Bay and Clayton, Clayton is the prettier environment. The close accessibility of town and its pubs and shops makes the stay easy and the presence of the Antique Boat Museum make the stop memorable. Visitors can also access tour boats for a visit through the Thousand Islands sites.

We fell in love with the area.

    Great location - score 4
    Marina Services - score 3
They placed us in a slip with lots of sea grass which affected our water intake for AC
    Facilities not well kept
Staff very young with little experience

We arrived at Clayton Harbor Municipal Marina and were greeted by 3 staff members who handled our lines. This marina has nice floating docks, bathrooms/showers and one washer/drier in the Women's rest room. It is within short walking distance of restaurants. We walked to the Antique Boat Museum and had a great time.

Great floating docks, free pumpout, excellent wi-fi, clean bathroom facilities and single coin operated washer/dryer in ladies bathroom. Recycling. Convenient location to downtown, restaurants and parks. Riverwalk Antique Boat Museum open daily 10 - 5 pm and plan for several hours to tour all the buildings. Local grocery 0.6 mi away. After you shop there, they will hold your purchases and deliver them to the marina free of charge. During our 4 day stay mid June, there were occasional wakes, but not any worse than other marinas. Seems to be a favorite with other Loopers!

Really nice new floating docks plus seawall. Minimum six foot depth at the docks and extra wide slips. Really good staff, and located right at the edge of Downtown Clayton with nothing more than 6 blocks away from the Marina. Clean bathrooms. Excellent WiFi and excellent cell coverage for AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile. Dockwa reservations: 2.05 per foot, no discounts. Supermarket one mile distant.

Exposed to the Northeast and to a lot of wakes from boats passing by at speed. No on site laundry facilities. The marina is busy and noisy with "go fasts" on weekends.

Clayton is a great stop to go go ashore. Good dining, good activities, and an absolutely fantastic antique wooden boat museum which you must see.

Definitely will come back when we get the chance.

A beautiful new facility with excellent floating docks, showers and restrooms. Adjacent to 1000 Islands Harbor Hotel. A quick walk to town and the Clayton antique boat museum, arguably the world's best. $5 for 4 hours. I think they wanted 2.50/ft. even for a center console overnight. Nice local retired staff. Not protected from a northeast blow.

    WG Editor Comment:
    Transient rate is $2.05/foot.
