This is a terrific DYI yard if you want to do your own work. Rocky & Kevin are patient and helpful with your needs. The yard is expanding this year & more the next 2 years. Rhonda & her crew are GREAT with fiberglass work & painting. A lot of folks stay aboard in the boat yard. We used TRANSAS I Sailor to come up the creek and had no problem but I'd plan on coming in with the tide if you have over 5 feet. We didn't have any issues getting into the travel lift, the approach was easy plenty of water to turn our boat around with a LOA of 63 feet. Rocky is terrific he will give you a 10% discount for cash & paying ahead.
Have NO FEAR the best DYI yard is right here!

This is a terrific yard if you want to do your own work. Rocky is patient and helpful. Lots of folks stay aboard in the boat yard. There could be better bathroom facilities but everyone makes due. We used Navionics to come up the creek and had no problem but I'd plan on coming in with the tide if you have over 6 feet. When coming in to the travel lift, approach from downstream -- skirt along the shore where there are many houses with docks. IOW come from downstream. Do not try to head straight in to the lift from the creek; there is a shoal directly south of the lift (west of the little island). You need to be in the top 1/3 of the tidal cycle to get in. Rocky is terrific and will help you -- and his yard crew is wonderful as well.

I am a "local", lived here for over 20 yrs (after Charleston,SC) and I hung around "Rocky's Boatyard" (what we know it as) even before we bought our trawler. Always friendly, answered my many ?'s and happy to help me any way they can. Our Albin 36 has been there a few times now, some short, some longer, but we always got the work done and back in the water with no problems.

Rocky Smith and his team are honest, friendly and knowledgeable. They go out of their way to help the "do it yourselfer" or those that would rather have a "contracted professional" handle the work. The yard environment is friendly and safe.
