This is a MUST STOP for Loopers! Beautiful accommodations, great customer service. The gulf beach is right across the road. Also have a golf cart shuttle to take you up the road for grocery/liquor store and more dining options. We stayed an extra night because we were enjoying ourselves so much!

I'm thinking, at one time this was a rather luxurious resort but the past few hurricanes have taken a toll. It's still very nice and they were working on repairs the whole time we were there. The pools are beautiful and the pool bar is nice. The beach is also very nice and right across the street. We ate breakfast in the restaurant. I ordered the hash and it was, honestly, one of the best dishes I've ever eaten! They had very nice, seemingly new, clean restroom/shower rooms. Docks were in decent shape and deckhands were kind and attentive. The approaching channel was well marked with plenty of depth. We thoroughly enjoyed this relaxing stop!

They are up and running again. Great resort with pools, restaurant, and spa. Marina is nice with clean showers and bathrooms. It's like old Florida. 1 of our favorites. Easy navigation from outside from the Gulf on the ICW

I spent two nights here in February 2023 when it was the only marina on the island that was open after Hurricane Ian.

First, you must closely follow the markers on the way in, especially at or near low tide. There's a tight spot at the channel, right near where it starts, with sandbars on either side.

The marina has all amenities you'd expect, including power, water, pumpout, and fuel. The marina staff is very friendly and helpful. The diesel fuel price was the best I'd seen in that part of Florida. The four bathroom suites look new and are well maintained. There's currently just one laundry room with 4 washers and 4 dryers; a second laundry room closer to the marina that sustained some hurricane damage is in the process of being repaired and will have new washers and dryers.

Docking fees are a bit on the high side, but include full access to the resort, including its two pools, beach access, loaner bicycles, and kayaks. The beach is literally right across the road and was pretty much deserted the whole time I was there. For an additional fee, the resort will set up chairs and umbrellas on the beach for you. The resort also has three restaurants, including a table service restaurant serving breakfast and dinner, a poolside snack bar with great burgers and fried favorites, and a coffee shop.

The loaner bikes will easily get you to the main commercial area on the island, which is about a mile away. That's where you'll find limited groceries with a liquor store, as well as restaurants and shops that are opening back up after hurricane repairs. The entire north half of the island was closed to the public during my visit, but I found enough to keep me busy closer to the marina. I even managed to find time to get a facial at the spa.

If you travel with dogs, as I do, you'll be happy to know that the place is pet friendly.

I enjoyed my stay at Captiva more than I thought I would and would recommend it to anyone looking for a more laid back coastal island experience.

Easy docking, dockmaster was pleasant. Crowe's Nest was very good. Loved the chilled pool and pool bar. Rode the free bikes all over Captiva.

Believe the directions the dockmaster gives you. Shallow approach but OK if you follow instructions. Walk across street to Gulf Beaches. Old FL atmosphere.
