A very functional marina. Docks, power, water all in good shape and worked well. Bath/shower nice and clean.

McDonough's Market across the street is well-stocked. There are several eateries within easy walking distance. A bike is nice to have to see the island.

The docks are older and some missing some cleats. We had help docking at an end dock. (Not too much room for bigger boats.) Some powers did not work but we were able to plugin close by. The adequate restrooms are clean. There is laundry but it's well water. It is about a half mile walk to the town where there are several restaurants and a few shops. The general store was across the road from North Marina. We had a private tour by Mary who has lived most of her life in Beaver Island. She was great. This was arranged when we arrived at the marina because we were too late for the tour arranged by the ferry. The thick crust pizza at Harbor was really good.

North marina. Tall fixed docks, well lighted. Piling define slips between finger piers. Decent washrooms. Town is walkable, but not much there. We were there late season, not much going on. Decent grocery across the street. Check out St. James Boatworks, where they are making strip built small boats.

Follow the markers in the bay! In speaking to locals, some have damaged props by not staying in the channel. There are two marinas, this one is to the north. Fixed docks are 16' wide. Bathrooms are clean. There's a brewery and grocery store that also sells beer and wine 1/2 a block away, everything is walkable. There are several restaurants but we ate on the boat.
