April 1, 2023 Storms forecast so stayed here to take a break from the weather. Restaurant was open so had a nice lunch. When you visit here you have access to the community center a short walk. Nice fitness room and I took advantage of a very nice indoor lap pool to do laps. Hot tub also but not for me. Reserved at last minute in morning and grateful they made room for us last minute. April 2022 Stopped here to obtain diesel at way below what it would have cost in Beaufort. Good help in docking and friendly staff. Probably will come back in the fall visit and stay a few days. Pump out was not installed yet but will be installed shortly. Restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday.

Exit the ICW to the south 1.3 miles east of Green "189" on the Coosaw River paying attention to the narrow water in the Parrot Creek and the missing Green "3". Turn west in Morgan Creek and find the marina on the south shore of the river approximately 2 miles upstream. In truth, we came to this marina for the best fuel prices in the area but, on arrival, found that the marina had just received a new supply of diesel, and had adjusted its prices to fit the current reality. The price was not bad but the anticipated fill-up became a normal cruising load in hopes of finding better as we moved north.
The fuel price disappointment was quickly forgotten as we found ourselves welcomed by three Dataw Marina people to help us into the gas dock in the face of the 20 mph breeze. They remained to assist us in getting off the dock after fueling and helping us tie up to the dock in our transient space (12 ft depth mlw). They could not have been nicer. The floating docks were in excellent condition as were the power pylons and water supply. Clean bathrooms, showers, laundry with free (!) dryer and a small store made this a perfect stop to stage for Charleston. Tie up is on a face dock on the river facing east/west so we had some bumps from the west wind during the evening but nothing serious. We had an excellent dinner at Morgan River Grill, located 200 yards from the boat and spent a quiet night on a well-lit dock with no concerns about security. As we were preparing to leave two dockhands appeared to help us push off. We did not have a chance to enjoy all that the marina had to offer so we will find a reason to come back and spend a day or two relaxing.Business Response:

The Dataw Island Yacht Club (DIYC) is so grateful to have our full service marina back in business. The new staff has been great in getting our dry stack boat owners in and out of the water particularly in support of our many cruises, as well as getting our boats fueled and cleaned as requested. The staff has also been great in coordinating our wet slip users and supporting arrivals and departures. The new full service maintenance organization is in place and working on our boats as well as many visiting boats from small outboards to large live-aboard vessels. They have haul out capacity up to 50 tons and 9 foot draft. The onsite restaurant, Morgan River Grill, looking out over the marina, is great for lunch, dinner or just drinks on the porch.
The marina has some transient dockage space. Transients can access the private facilities at Dataw, including two 18 hole golf courses, multiple tennis courts, pickle ball courts, swimming pools and restaurant facilities. Access to the Dataw facilities is coordinated through the DIYC, so contact us on your next stay at our marina.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is a great marina and a perfect stop north of Beaufort just off the ICW. Great restaurant on site, floating docks and a great marina staff. It is very well protected and quiet. I live on Dataw Island and have my boat in the Dataw Marina dry stack which is tremendously convenient as my boat can be put in the water in a matter of minutes, fueled and ready to go. With the on-site Morgan River Grill (MRG) restaurant, great food and drink is readily available after a day on the water.

I live on Dataw Island and this is my home port. After being closed since 2016 due to Hurricane Matthew, we were so excited to reopen phase one of our marina in 2019. The location on the Morgan River provides a truly picturesque setting to watch beautiful sunsets. Staff is very friendly and accommodating and eager to please. There is a great restaurant onsite and a service yard to meet most of your needs. Both diesel and gas are available. Showers are well maintained. Bicycles are available for a leisurely ride around the island. Located about halfway between Charleston and Savannah, this is a great stop for a relaxing evening, weekend, or longer.

This is a beautiful marina on a beautiful gated island. There's a nice restaurant and you can rent a golf cart and tour the island. The showers and restrooms are nice and clean.
Unfortunately, Hurricane Mathew pretty much destroyed the marina and as of this date (April, 2017) it is not back in service yet so you can't go there. They do (did) have diesel fuel and I suspect gasoline.
The five stars are from before the storm and I expect they will be as good once they reopen.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
