Staff was exceptional. We were docked on the fuel dock. Facilities were clean . Marina is next door to a well known honky tonk that is a must see. Food was good as well. We will be staying again .

Great overnight stopover point while headed North. The staff are excellent but echoing everyone else the River traffic, swing bridge bell, & current are atrocious. Tons of nearby retail & dining nearby. All-in-all, we'd stop here again.

Harbourgate rescued us when our engine started making a funny little noise as we proceeded north from Osprey (turned out to be no big deal). They put overnighters on the fuel dock, so easy-in-easy-out on a floating dock. There are decent but not fancy showers. We walked over to Captain Archie's for great burgers and fries (and a much-needed beer after our engine stress). The only negatives were the wakes (we were feet from the waterway) and the blaring horn from the neighboring swing bridge. Otherwise, this is a great little stop if you need it.

A possible alternative to Barefoot Landing if you can't get in. Slips appear narrow but I don't know as they were kind enough to let us stay overnight on the fuel dock and the dock hand was very kind in helping us tie up. The marina is located on the starboard side (if you're heading north) right after the swing bridge which opens on the half hour and just before the fixed bridge. Try to time it as there is a current to deal with but more importantly, be aware that barges go thru "the rockpile" too. We were fortunate to arrive just minutes before a barge came through. There aren't any inlets to hide in and at low tide it's going to be tight should you encounter a barge. Clean restrooms, didn't use the laundry facilities.

Only giving it three stars because of the congestion. It's nestled between a fixed bridge and swing bridge less than 1/4 mile apart. Combine that with the fact that it's right after the "rockpile" a very narrow passage (which also has barge traffic) and a somewhat swift current, it can be a bit of a challenge. The staff was kind enough to let us stay on the fuel dock which is good because the marina appears to be tight with narrow slips. With more experience we'll make this a stop primarily because of "Captain Archie's" which is a hoppin' fun place.

Great place. Susie’s father built the place back in 1964.

This is our favourite marina on the Grand Strand. Excellent staff who cater to boaters every need. The marina is in an excellent location, with a new large shopping plaza including groceries and West Marine within walking distance. Two hotels and numerous restaurants also nearby. Excellent floating docks and the high buildings provide protection from strong winds. The marina was dredged in spring 2018 and is now 8 ft at low tide. There is seldom a wake problem since the combination of a slow speed zone and the swing bridge slows everyone. And to top it all off, there is a webcam so you can watch your boat if you are not there. The only downside is noise from the two nearby bridges.
