Great folks run this place. We were in the area during our Great Loop adventure in late 2019 and wanted to meet up with friends and come and go for about a week. I called and spoke to the dockmaster and told him we were looking for a good deal in MKE for a week's stay on a dock, and he made a deal that was so fair I will not even admit to it in print for fear that someone else will ask it of him. Suffice it to say, I had the lowest slip rent in Milwaukee for an entire week—there is little doubt of that. And this was before we belonged to a club with reciprocity. The deal was just kind people being kind to strangers by sharing their wonderful facility for a fraction of what it is worth. It still chokes me up a little.

SSYC is one of the friendliest and down to earth clubs on the Great Lakes. Great food. Easy walking distance to stores/restaurants. Adjacent to the Lake Express Ferry dock. SSYC has fuel & pump-out services as well. Transient dockage is available in the horseshoe by the fuel docks. Call the club ahead of time if you plan to stay the night.

As a new member I am slightly biased, but as a life long sailor I am critical. I can say honestly that this is a great facility, with very gracious members and great service. Within walking distance are a few great little Italian grocery stores to provision your boat, and numerous members that are always willing to help and get the transient sailor a ride to a store or help make repairs. Truly a great down to earth sincere place.
