Our planned destination was Ottawa, IL, but the delays at the two locks between Joliet and Seneca totaled 4:45 and it was getting dark. We called the Spring Brook Marina the staff was very friendly, making room for us for the evening. They assigned us a slip and told us we could download a map of their marina from their website. We were unable to download the map, and once we cleared the tight inlet into the marina, we found the docks and slip numbers were not apparent from the water. The marina was closed, so we simply picked an open slip. This seems like a very nice marina and RV campground. We cannot comment on any of the marina service/facilities simply because we did not use them. However, the docks are properly maintained and the marina is very pet-friendly.

Great people! Kevin and the service crew top notch.
Restaurant did not disappoint (although only open F-S-S after Labor Day)
Little narrow and shallow on entry but we'll protected slips once in there.
Heated pool, dog friendly, loaner car... don't let the PRIVATE tag deter you, they seem quite transient/ looper friendly.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This is a great little Marina particularly for boats under 50 feet and particularly if the day is growing late and southbound traffic doesn't want to wait for the Marseille lock. Easy access with 30 and 50 amp service and a very caring staff. There is a small restaurant on the premises that we enjoyed. Price was very reasonable. don't be fooled by the private label, they are accommodating and supportive of transients. Highly recommend.

A wonderfully accomodating staff! The intimate, on-site restaurant / bar is a local favorite, and rightly so. The dockmaster will make a courtesy car available for those needing to go to town for provisions. In addition to having engine mechanics on-duty, there is a marine parts department at the marina as well. Be cognizant of the river current as you enter the short but narrow break into the marina basin. If you draw more than 3 1/2 feet, I would suggest using F-dock.
