First the good news - The service was excellent - all of the staff we encountered seemed eager for us to have a good stay. The bad news is that the docks really need to be replaced or repaired. If you walk down the center of the dock (which is where you should walk!) there is banging all along the length of the dock. This is due to center panels that lift up and then bang down the whole length - for no apparent reason. In fact, if there are two people walking - the person in the back could easily trip on the lifted panel. Also, this constant noise must annoy the people on the boats in the slips. We were at the end on a T so we thankfully weren't disturbed but be forewarned.

Terrible Service and horrible attitude of Office workers. Very disorganized. Southeast wind tore not only the loosely attached cleat off of the dock holding our bow in, but the sides of the entire finger slips have broken shards of metal sticking out that popped a fender and gouged the fiberglass badly. Mgmt shrugged their shoulders. Nothing to do there except walk over a mile to an immeasurably overpriced restaurant. No town to walk as we found out is a very depressed and decrepit, dangerous neighborhood. We tried taking more than just a casual observance of the neighborhood immediately surround Safe Harbor Haverstraw. Hard pass on this next time traveling the Hudson River.

I had been a customer of this marina for twenty years, and I have watched the yearly decline of a poorly run establishment. The absentee owner runs this marina for a single reason, which is to make as much money as possible while providing sub par services. Most marinas are run by owner operators, so there is a level of pride and concern. Sadly, this is not the case with this Haverstraw marina. It once had great attributes and could be a real find if only the owner cared. I would like to see this marina get bought out and then maybe it could become a full service marina. My advice is find another place to go unless you don't care about customer service.

Haverstraw marina was a lot better 20 years ago. We re-visited the haverstraw marina in late August 2016. Docks are very worn out, rickety aluminum docks. Were only two very tiny cleats to tie off and very hard to dock since the slips are so tightly spaced to maximize how many boats they can accommodate. Pool was small and we couldn't get a chair to sit on around the pool for almost an hour. The local boatters generally do not like visiting boaters for some odd reason. Was told that we couldn't BBQ off the boat whatsoever, and the restaurant albeit so so decent food, is highly overpriced as there's absolutely no town whatsoever to walk to. This marina a is in a hugely industrial setting and we only went there to visit guests who lived on the Rockland County side of the Hudson there. We will definitely stay across the way at Half Moon Bay Marina in the future. Prior reviewer certainly sounded like he had a major axe to grind and definitely embellished his review. Giving it one star as our dog couldn't stand the hot metal docks here at Haverstraw amd the lack of any dock hands or attention to helping out in gemeral

We decided not to stay at Half Moon Bay on our way down river and went into Haverstraw Bay Marina on 27-28 August. It is a first class marina that charges $2.65/foot. It is totally protected from wind and current, has super clean docks, a great dock staff, clean restrooms and laundry, a marine store, a great restaurant with views of the river, a swimming pool that is large, clean, and convenient.
