FL: Matanzas River by R16 MM 781
- Date Reported: Jun 20, 2024
- Reporter: Bob423
- Source: User
- Description:
Update: 14.5 MLLW on the Bob423 track as of 5/10/2024
Lots of depth, so why is there an Alert here? It's because there are shoals on either side but are easily avoided by following the Bob423 track. Pass G15 by 280 feet off (there's a shoal by G15), Split R16 and G17 for 23.8 MLW. Do not follow either the magenta line or the recommended track on the charts. A shoal is coming out from the G17 into the green side of the channel. Once past R16 heading south, switch to favoring the green side around the curve until past R24. The Bob423 track is shown in Aqua Map.
