NY: West Point Military Academy Dock - Restricted Use
- Date Reported: May 20, 2018
- Reporter: Ted Stehle
- Source: West Point Harbormaster
- Description:
There have been a lot of boaters inquiring about docking at West Point. We no longer allow transient boaters due to security measures in force. As of now, we only allow boaters accessing South Dock for football games, where full security checks are required, but our dock space is limited. We do not have a 'marina' type facility. Requests for football game dockings or passenger drop-offs must be made in advance and there are no overnight stays allowed.
Any requests for tours by land should be made through:
www.westpointtours.com
And the West Point Visitors center has new guidelines and info for visitor passes here:
https://www.usma.edu/visitors/SitePages/Home.aspx
If any boaters are staying at other local marina's, they would need to process through the visitors center first. The visitors hours have been changing, so please call first.
If you can update any of your future publications or online version that would be much appreciated.
Thank you for a great publication,
Mike
