GA: Old Teakettle Creek, by R160, MM 643.6
- Date Reported: Jun 18, 2024
- Reporter: Bob423
- Source: User
- Description:
Update: 23 MLLW as of 1/12/2024 on the Bob423 track
Why is there a hazard marker for 203feet deep water? Well, many boaters have gone aground by cutting too close to R160, which can be seen sitting on land during a spring low tide. For deep water, follow the outside of the bend at least 170 off R160 for 23 MLLW, or just follow the B423 Track as shown on the 11/1/2022 USACE survey in Aqua Map. There is a shoal on a line between R160 and R158A that catches a few boats every year; do not hug either ATON.
USACE = US Army Corps of Engineers
ATONs = Aids TO Navigation such as buoys and daymarks
