- Description:
Update: 9.9 MLLW as of 9/6/2023 on the Bob423 track.
The Bob423 track is shown on the 9/6/2023 USACE survey in Aqua Map (northern entrance). Two charts are provided. The top chart is an expanded view of the northern entrance. The bottom chart is an overall view of Fields Cut. The track showing the northern entrance by G47 has been stable for the last 10 years. It’s easiest to just follow the Bob423 track as downloaded to Aqua Map or Navionics.
Going south:
- Pass G47 off 160 ft for 12 MLLW and aim to R48A by being 100 ft off the shore (where the deepest water is located).
- Then stay in the center of the channel and favor the outside of turns
- At the southern exit, favor the red side and pass the range tower by 130 ft off (27.6 MLLW) and R50 by 220 ft off for 30 MLLW
Going North:
- Pass R50 by 220 ft off and the range tower by 130 ft off and favor the red side around the turn.
- Return to the center of the channel after the bend and favor the outside of the turns
- At the northern exit, do not aim directly for R48A; take a sweeping turn to starboard (outside of the turn) and then turn to port to get in line with R48A about 200 ft before the buoy.
- When you pass R48A, aim to be 100 feet off the shore, it’s where the deepest water is located.
- Aim to pass G47 by 160 ft off, you will see 12 MLLW just south of G47.
Detail of northern exit, follow the Bob423 track.
