- Date Reported: Jun 2, 2022
- Reporter: Jani Parker
- Source: Waterway Guide Staff
- Description:
Overview: Uncomplicated entrance protected by jetties on both sides and with good depths within. Depths are maintained at 12 feet in the 400-foot-wide channel running midway between the jetties. Popular with sportfishers. Coast Guard Station Wrightsville Beach is just past red daybeacon "10."
Approach: Masonboro Inlet Lighted Whistle Buoy "A" is at N 34° 10.387'/W 077° 47.846'.
Navigation: The uncharted buoys are frequently relocated. Once inside, if you are heading to Wrightsville Beach, bear to starboard at green and red daybeacon "WC" into Banks channel and then turn to port at Motts Channel a bit farther up.
Cautions & Hazards: There are no particular difficulties with this inlet, although a southeasterly wind can cause difficult conditions for smaller boats.
ICW Connection: ICW Mile 285 lies straight ahead past Shinn Creek.
- Lat / Lon: N 34° 10.979' / W 077° 48.545'
