- Date Reported: Nov 28, 2024
- Reporter: Ted Stehle
- Source: CG 7th District LNM 0748/24
- Description:
Narduli Studio, on behalf of Broward County, will partially obstruct the channel at the Andrews Avenue Bridge, across the New River, mile 2.3 at Fort Lauderdale. The contractor will utilize a catamaran vessel with crane to mount panels and decorative lighting on the bascule piers. The horizontal clearance will be reduced to approximately 55 feet while the vessel is on location. Installation will begin on December 16, 2024, and end on January 3, 2025, with work taking place 24 hours a day. The drawbridge will operate per its drawbridge operation regulation – 33 CFR 117.313(b). Vessels needing a full channel passage are requested to contact the bridge tender at least 10 minutes prior to arrival so the channel can be safely cleared.
