Lake Michigan, Milwaukee, Breakwater Repair

From 01 Aug 2024 to 31 Dec 2024 Great Lakes Dock and Material will be conducting South Shore breakwater repair. Hours of operation are 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Barge Justin Avery, Tug George F. Bailey and Tug Fischer Hayden can be contacted on VHF channels 16 and 18. Mariners should use extreme caution when transiting the area and maintain 25ft from equipment and work area. (4) danger buoys will outline the work area on the landside of the existing breakwater. Do Not Enter Work Area. Please have positive contact with equipment, marine equipment will be located near the south shore breakwater – North Section in Lake Michigan. The work areas are directly east of South Shore Yacht Club. Equipment includes crane barge, excavators, material barges and tug boats.
