- Date Reported: Jul 31, 2024
- Reporter: Ted Stehle
- Source: CG 8th District (Gulf) LNM 08g31/24
- Description:
Commencing September 3, 2024 and continuing through February 28, 2025, the Almonaster Avenue Drawbridge crossing the Inner Harbor Navigation Canal, Mile 2.9, will undergo repairs. Bridge repairs will be conducted from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. During working hours, a single 35-foot wide barge will be working in the channel, adjacent to the bridge protection system. Mariners requiring movement of the barge should coordinate with the bridge tender 2-hours in advance. After working hours, the barge will be removed from the channel. Bridge repairs are not expected to impact the drawbridge operating schedule. Mariners are requested to transit the area at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake and proceed with caution after passing arrangements have been made. For additional information or to coordinate movement of the barge, mariners should contact the bridge tender, at (504) 945-3112, or on VHF-FM Channel 13.
