FL: Indian River, Intracoastal Mile 964.8, A1A North Causeway Bridge, Replacement Update

Vecellio & Grogan, Inc. ("V&G"), on behalf of the bridge owner, FDOT, are conducting construction operations for the replacement of the A1A North Causeway Drawbridge across the AICW, mile 964.8, at Ft. Pierce, FL. A temporary work trestle (platform) has been installed on the northeast side of the existing A1A North Causeway Bridge. In water work will continue directly adjacent to, and at times partially restrict, the navigable waterway with barge(s) n order to perform maintenance work on the bascules of the existing bridge and perform other associated construction activities until September 2027. At least 45 feet width of the channel shall remain open at all times. Vessels needing a full channel passage are required to provide the bridge tender with a 30-minute advance notice to allow for the barge to clear the channel. During the evening/overnight hours the channel will be unobstructed. All in-water equipment is required to be properly lighted. All mariners are requested to use caution and transit the area at a slow speed.
