The river cuts right through town, where you can find groceries, services and supplies, a coin laundry, library (with 24/7 wireless access) and hospital and specialty shops and restaurants. Waterway charts are available for purchase at the Trent Hills Chamber of Commerce (705-653-1551) on the waterfront. The folks there will help you with anything you need to know or do.
The town is known for its Empire Cheese Co-Op at 1120 County Rd. (705-653-3187) and World’s Finest Chocolate Outlet at 157 Cockburn St. (800-461-1957). Both allow you to sample and purchase their tasty products and are accessible from the lock. A very small Farmers’ Market is held from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays (seasonally).
